Great place, lovely people working there.
Stayed here in Jan. Great place, walking distance to everything needed in Cairns. Staff on reception are super helpful and friendly. Prue basically booked everything for me for while I was in Oz. One of the most comfortable professional hostels I've stayed at.
The service here was exceptional. The manager I dealt with, Chris, was very helpful on the phone before I arrived, and in person as well. He’s clearly passionate about Cairns and its visitors, has great local knowledge. It’s clear the owners are dedicated to running a great accommodation. The kitchen was really good – very useable. The whole place is clean and service very helpful with tours and activities. I stayed in a private room above the café which was peaceful and comfortable. You could not honestly ask to stay in a better hostel, its like a home from home. I stayed in a 3 bed dorm, what a difference to have no bunks. Its exceptionally clean and because of this, people take care of it and keep it that way. Chris on reception is so knowledgeable and helpful, when he remembered my name after a couple of days away on a trip it makes you feel very special. This hostel is small but there are always people around to talk to. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, could use a few extra showers. Only a block from the mall and a supermarket, and about a ten minute walk to the main streets.
