Dreamtime is awesome! I’m always staying there when I’m in Cairns. By now that’s 4-5 visits over the last six months with the longest being for about two months. The staff are super friendly and always helpful. The hostel has a lot of character, a relaxed atmosphere and is nice and tidy. And the fire show after the barbeque on Wednesdays is a must stay

Rooms are super comfortable, quiet with great beds ensuring a good nights sleep. You get a proper duvet (which many hostels don’t offer) and a towel which after months of travelling is pure luxury, trust me! Staff are particularly helpful and welcoming; they are very knowledgable about the local area and can help you plan your trip.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Dreamtime, and is without doubt the best hostel I’ve been to in Australia. All the staff the are brilliant and very considerate to your needs. They are all very knowledgeable of the surrounding area, and give great advice about which activities to do whether it be SCUBA diving, snorkelling or skydiving. The cleaners also put in a huge effort to make certain that all the rooms are spotless on arrival, and that the bathrooms are kept clean. Being a solo backpacker I found it very easy to meet new people as there are a range of social events put on weekly, whether it be a barbecue or a movie night, which give an opportunity to converse with guests. The rooms were also very well priced (which is good if you’re on a budget), and represented great value for money considering they are quite spacious and kept clean. There is all a great chilled out vibe to the place, which makes it easy comprehend why it attracts so many guests. “Best Hostel in East Coast Oz”

The best hostel we stayed in during our East Coast tour of Oz. No faults at all – the staff are particularly great, with some amazing tour recommendations (with discount prices) making this THE place to stay in Cairns. Tom & Tom. have never commented on a hostel before. Dreamtime is ideal. They make a huge effort to ensure everyone enjoys themselves. They regularly hold BBQ’s, Nights out, Fire Shows, Basket Ball game trips, Pizza nights, movie nights and loads more. I have traveled europe, Thailand, Singapore, and now Aus and its easily in my top 3 hostels. Very relaxed but with a great atmosphere. Location is ideal. Staff are super friendly and helped me book alot of tours/buses etc. So yeh, when i book hostels i always read

| One of the most comfortable professional hostels I’ve stayed at.The service here was exceptional. The manager I dealt with, Chris, was very helpful on the phone before I arrived, and in person as well. He’s clearly passionate about Cairns and its visitors, has great local knowledge. It’s clear the owners are dedicated to running a great accommodation. The kitchen was really good – very useable. The whole place is clean and service very helpful with tours and activities. I stayed in a 3 bed dorm, what a difference to have no bunks. Its exceptionally clean and because of this, people take care of it and keep it that way. Chris on reception is so knowledgeable and helpful, when he remembered my name after a couple of days away on a trip it makes you feel very special. Only a block from the mall and a supermarket, and about a ten minute walk to the main streets.
